This section explains how to power the equipment in the Wireless Wheel Speed Sensor kits:
- The Link Data Receiver gets power from a connected VBOX Data Logger.
Ports 1 and 2 on the Link Data Receiver are bridged. You can use either port for the POWER/CAN connection to the VBOX Data Logger. You can use the other port to daisy-chain CAN communication to other Racelogic Modules.
For more information about the required hardware connections for your test system, see the Installation page.
- The Wheel Speed Sensors use internal batteries.
To power the system, you must activate each sensor. To activate a sensor, swipe the supplied Magnetic Switch (WSMAGSW) over the top of the sensor. The Sensor Status LED will turn red during activation and will turn green when the sensor is ready for use.
You can deactivate the sensors by swiping the Magnetic Switch over the top of the sensor while it is activated. The Sensor Status LED will turn off.
Power-up order:
- Connect the Link Data Receiver to your VBOX data logger to power the receiver.
- Use the Magnetic Switch to power each Wheel Speed Sensor.
- Check the system status. The following LED behaviours confirm that the sensor signals are present and received.
- The Status LEDs on the sensors must be green.
- The Sensor LEDs on the front panel of the Link Data Receiver must be green for the connected sensors.
IMPORTANT
You must calibrate the sensors before you start the test.
See the Configuration page for instructions.
CAUTION
To keep the stated waterproof rating of the Wheel Speed Sensors, you must securely close the charging ports with the provided water plug to prevent water from entering the sensors during use.
