When you create points for Pit Locations, the Pit Lane Timer will store them in its memory as Track_000, Track_001, Track_002, and so on. The unit will automatically load the relevant points depending on your location, so you do not need to change the default name. You can, however, change it if you want to.
To edit the name of an existing pit location, you must Save the Pit Locations to the SD Card and open the text file that was saved to the SD Card on a computer. You can now edit the Track names in this file manually. When you edit the names, you must make sure that the PIT prefix is not touched, you can only change the Track_XXX part of the line.
After you have made changes or additions to a file, you must rename the file from its original naming format (for example pitLocation000.txt) to pitLocationIn.txt for the unit to be able to load it.
Note: The file name is case sensitive.
When you are ready to load the Pit Locations onto the unit again, you should always Clear the current Pit Locations from the unit first.
When new pit lane locations are added from the SD card, these will not overwrite the currently stored location but add to them. Therefore, when you are making edits it is best to clear the old list from the unit memory before you load the edited list to avoid duplications.
Save the edited and renamed file to the SD card and insert the SD card into the Pit Lane Timer. Power the unit and navigate to the Pit Lane Menu -> Manage Pit Locations -> Load Pit Locations from SD Card.
Press the OK button with the Load Pit Locations from SD Card highlighted and wait for the unit to load the file.
