When you purchase an Pit Display (RLVBPITDSP-V2), you will find the following items when you open the box:

The Pit Display is powered via its connection to a powered VBOX unit, such as a Pit Lane Timer or VBOX Video HD2.

The function of this button is to navigate down through menu options and settings

4th button

Shortcut Button

The function of this button is to act as a shortcut to exit the settings and return to the display modes.

When in Pit timing mode, pressing this button will make the unit carry out a quick check to confirm that the display is connected to the Pit Lane Timer. 

If it cannot detect a connected Pit Lane Timer, the following message will appear on the display: Waiting for CAN Data.
