VBOX Wheel Speed Sensors are fully wireless, eliminating the need for securing arms, power feeds, or data lines. This allows for effortless installation and precise wheel speed data capture.
We offer package options with or without a Wheel Speed Sensor Fixture Kit. The standard kit includes chuck sizes of 17 mm, 19 mm, and 21 mm, while larger sizes (22 mm and 23 mm) are available separately. For HGVs or vehicles that are incompatible with the standard mounting kit, our sensor-only package provides a flexible solution.
Mount each sensor to the corresponding wheel:
- FR - Front Right
- FL - Front Left
- RL - Rear Left
- RR - Rear Right
- Allen key (5 mm)
- Allen Key (3 mm)
- Wheel Speed Sensor Fixing Kit
- Place the compression fixings from the fixture kit on the wheel nuts.
- Make sure they are seated appropriately.
- Place the cover over the compression fixings.
IMPORTANT
The mounting plate must be level when installed.
If the locking nut makes its bolt protrude more or less than on the other wheel nuts, you can either:
- Use spacers to make them all equal and level
OR
- Mount the plate on all the wheel nuts except the locking nut.
- Use spacers to make them all equal and level
- The locking plate will have numbers next to the cutouts that indicate which cutouts to use, depending on the number of wheel nuts there are on the relevant wheel.
IMPORTANT
You must always use the slots for the number of locking nuts on the wheel and not the number of mounting bolts you are using.
- When you have lined up the correct slots on the mounting plate, insert the mounting screws (5 mm).
As you turn the mounting screws to attach the mounting plate, the compression fixing will be pulled down, which in turn tightens the fixing, securely attaching the fixing to the wheel nut.
The Mounting Screws should be tightened securely, but do not need a specific torque value.
-
Fix the sensors to the Mounting Plate using the 4 smaller mounting screws (3 mm).
The Mounting Screws should be tightened securely, but do not need a specific torque value.
Connect one Wheel Speed Sensor Receive Antenna per sensor to the Antenna ports on the front panel of the Wheel Speed Sensor Link Data Receiver.
When you place the receiver antennas for the sensors, you must keep the following in mind:
- x
- x
- x
Swipe the Magnet Switch over the top of a sensor to activate it before you start the test.
IMPORTANT
- Power the mounted sensors while the vehicle wheels are static to facilitate the internal bias calculation and zeroing.
- Make sure that the waterproof plug is fully inserted into the connector on the sensor before you start the test.
