Note: When using VBOX 3i units only
The Record icon shows the current logging status of the connected VBOX unit.
When a CF card is detected and available within the VBOX (i.e. the CF Status icon is green), logging can also be controlled by pressing the Record Icon. If 'Logging Beep' is enabled in the General Settings menu, the unit will make an audible alert signal when the logging state of the connected VBOX unit changes.
If the grey Record Icon is pressed when the VBOX has its log mode set to ‘Log when moving’ and the vehicle is stationary, the screen title will be briefly display an 'ARMED' status. This indicates that the recording media has been detected, and the unit is waiting for starting conditions to be met before logging commences. When logging commences, the Record Icon will display as red.
If you press the grey Record icon when the unit is not detecting a CF card or if the media is full (i.e. the CF Status icon is red), the unit will emit an audible beep and display one of the following messages:
- NO MEDIA AVAILABLE - No detected recordable media.
- CARD FULL - Media detected but no logging capacity remains.
- NO MEDIA AVAILABLE - VBOX 3i is unable to write to recordable media (i.e. corrupt card).
If MFD Touch cannot detect a VBOX unit, it will display a 'NO CAN' message in this area. A Logging Status channel is also available for selection as a text parameter which will describe the current logging status of the connected VBOX.
If 'Logging Beep' is enabled in the General Settings menu, the unit will make an audible alert signal when the logging state of the connected VBOX unit changes.
If MFD Touch cannot detect a VBOX unit, it will display a 'NO CAN' message instead of the Logging Status icon.
You can also add Logging Status as a text parameter, describing the current logging status of the connected VBOX unit.
Tap the Record icon to open the Logging Menu.
When the connected VBOX is ready to log, the Logging Menu will display the following.
- The logging status ('STOPPED').
- The file name that will be used for the next file that will be written.
- A START button.
Tap the START button to start writing the next file. - A BACK button.
Tap this button to exit the Logging Menu and go back to the data screens.
When the connected VBOX is ready to log, the Logging Menu will display the following.
- The logging status ('STOPPED').
- The file name that will be used for the next file that will be written.
- A START button.
Tap the START button to start writing the next file. - A BACK button.
Tap this button to exit the Logging Menu and go back to the data screens.
When the connected VBOX is logging, the Logging Menu will display the following:
- The logging status ('WRITING').
- The name of the file that is currently being written.
- A STOP button.
Tap this button to stop writing to the current file. - A PAUSE button.
Tap this button to pause writing to the current file. - A BACK button.
Tap this button to exit the Logging Menu and go back to the data screens.
When the connected VBOX is logging, the Logging Menu will display the following:
- The logging status ('WRITING').
- The name of the file that is currently being written.
- A STOP button.
Tap this button to stop writing to the current file. - A PAUSE button.
Tap this button to pause writing to the current file. - A BACK button.
Tap this button to exit the Logging Menu and go back to the data screens.
When logging on the connected VBOX has been paused, the Logging Menu will display the following:
- The logging status ('PAUSED').
- The name of the file that is currently paused.
- A STOP button.
Tap this button to stop writing to the current file. - A CONTINUE button.
Tap this button to continue writing to the current file.
When logging on the connected VBOX has been paused, the Logging Menu will display the following:
- The logging status ('PAUSED').
- The name of the file that is currently paused.
- A STOP button.
Tap this button to stop writing to the current file. - A CONTINUE button.
Tap this button to continue writing to the current file.
When logging on the connected VBOX has been stopped, the Logging Menu will display the following:
- The logging status ('STOPPED').
- The name of the file that is currently stopped.
- A DELETE button.
Tap this button to delete the current file. MFD Touch will display a prompt asking you to confirm that you want to delete the selected file. If you tap YES, MFD Touch will confirm that the file has been deleted. - A KEEP button.
Tap this button to save the current file. MFD Touch will confirm that the file has been saved.
When logging on the connected VBOX has been stopped, the Logging Menu will display the following:
- The logging status ('STOPPED').
- The name of the file that is currently stopped.
- A DELETE button.
Tap this button to delete the current file. MFD Touch will display a prompt asking you to confirm that you want to delete the selected file. If you tap YES, MFD Touch will confirm that the file has been deleted. - A KEEP button.
Tap this button to save the current file. MFD Touch will confirm that the file has been saved.
If you tap the grey Record icon when the VBOX unit's log mode is set to ‘Log when moving’ and the vehicle is stationary, the screen title will display the status ARMED. This indicates that the recording media has been detected, and the unit is waiting for the starting conditions to be met before it begins logging. When the logging starts, the Record icon will become red.
If you tap the grey Record icon when the unit is not detecting a media card or if the media is full (the Media Status icon is red), the unit will emit an audible beep and display one of the following messages:

- CARD FULL - Media detected in the connected VBOX, but no logging capacity remains.

You can change the names of the test files to make it easier to manage your files.
The VBOX records data using the file prefix 'VBOX'. You can change the file name to simplify the data capture management by assigning a new directory for the data to write to.
You can either select an existing directory on the memory card or create a new directory.
