VBOX Manager uses a CAN Bus link to communicate with the connected VBOX data logger.
VBOX Manager uses a rotary push-button knob to navigate the options on the display. Rotate the knob to navigate the available options. Press the knob to select an option.
When you power a VBOX Manager unit connected to a VBOX unit, you will see the following on the display:
Notes:
- If you use VBOX Manager with a VBOX 3iS or a compatible VBOX Speed Sensor, the display will open the Setup menu directly.
- The Setup menu will not be available if you use VBOX Manager with a VBOX 4 variant.
Select this option to start logging on the connected VBOX data logger.
The NEXT FILE parameter shows the name of the file that will be created when the logging starts.
Select this option to create a new directory and filename for the VBOX data files.
For example, if you enter the filename "BRAKE", the VBOX unit will create a directory called BRAKE on logging media and the subsequent data files will be named BRAKE001, BRAKE002, etc.
The file name for the next file that will be created is displayed under the status on the right-hand side of the display.
The following example shows the VBOX unit logging data to the media. The left side of the screen will display the available options. The name of the currently open logging file will be displayed under the status on the right-hand side of the display.
Press the knob with an option highlighted to select it. In this example, the VBOX unit will stop logging when you press the knob.
When you stop the logging, the following will be displayed:
Select this option to close and save the current file on the logging media and create a new file.
The file number will be incremented for each new file created.
If the connected VBOX data logger is set to the ‘log when moving’ log mode, the status will show ARMED.
This indicates that the logging media has been detected and that the unit is waiting to log until the start conditions are met.
The connected VBOX data logger is logging the data to the logging media.
When the VBOX unit is logging, the arrows will rotate.
The logging on the connected VBOX unit has been stopped.
If the VBOX unit cannot detect a logging media, the status will show NO CARD.
