Updated on Mar 4, 2026

The different products you can connect the MIM to will decide the cables and ports used for the connections.

Click on the heading relevant for your system to see the connection information:

Connect the RLCAB005-C cable to the RLCAN port on the VBOX and to a DATA port on the MIM.

The CAN cable connection between a VBOX 4 and the MIM can be connected to either DATA socket as they share the same CAN connections.

The RLCAB045 cable must only connect between the DATA2 socket on the MIM and the AUX connector on VBOX Mini. This data connection is an RS232 serial data link and that is only present in the DATA2 socket on the MIM. The SC light under the connector will indicate serial communications present on the connection between the MIM and the VBOX Mini.

After each power-up, you must access the Input Module Screen on the VBOX Mini for VBOX Mini to be able to recognise the presence of the MIM so that it can log the MIM channels. After you have performed this step, you can use any of the VBOX Mini screens.
