Maths Channels can be used to create a new channel to be displayed using a combination of the existing parameters. An example may be hill gradient which can be calculated from the horizontal speed and the vertical speed.

The equation is then entered into the Maths Channel setup window.
Select
parameters by clicking on the relevant button in the Data Sources tab.
Once a Maths Channel has been defined, you can assign a Text element to use this Maths Channel in the Parameters drop down menu in the Text Properties tab:
