VBOX Touch GPS Coldstart

Updated on Mar 4, 2026
If your VBOX Touch struggles to acquire a satellite lock, you may need to perform a GPS coldstart. A coldstart could be necessary when the unit hasn’t been used for several days or when its location has moved significantly since it was last used.
You perform a coldstart by pressing the Settings button at the bottom left of the screen.

When you press the button, the unit will make an audible alert and you will see a ‘ PLEASE WAIT ’ message on the screen, counting down from 3. The number of satellites will then be displayed as ' 00 ' and the GPS status will show ‘ SEARCHING FOR SATELLITES ’ until it has acquired a satellite lock. It takes approximately 25 to 30 seconds for the unit to reacquire satellite lock.
