Slip Angles Compatibility

This page provides information about the possible combinations of VBOX 4, Dual Antenna and IMU configurations to log translated slip angles using SlipIMU or SlipDANT during tests and the sources they use for the slip angle measurements. 

VBOX 4 creates the slip angle from 2 different sources; SlipIMU and SlipDANT. 

SlipIMU

Uses the vehicle heading generated by the IMU to calculate the slip angle.

SlipDANT

Uses the vehicle heading generated by the Dual Antennas to calculate the slip angle. 
 

The slip angle can be translated to 5 different locations on the vehicle. VBOX 4 will automatically pick the best slip angle to use as the source depending on the equipment you are using, as documented in the table below.
